THINGS TO DO IN SAN DIEGO – MUST-SEE ATTRACTIONS

One of the most famous cities in the United States for its excellent quality of life, natural landscapes and cultural attractions, San Diego is full of must-see attractions.

Here we will name a few that you can add to your list, but we emphasize that there is much more to see!

Shall we check?

ENJOY A DAY AT THE FAMOUS LA JOLLA BEACH

There’s no way to talk about San Diego without mentioning the beaches, famous for their clear waters and white sand.

Coronado Beach, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach are some that we can highlight.

But in the post we strongly recommend that you get to know La Jolla, which is about 20km from downtown San Diego, but worth the trip.

It is the stronghold of the rich and famous, being known as one of the most expensive m² in the USA!

But the focus here is on natural beauty and this is abundant in La Jolla, which has 4 great beaches: Windansea, La Jolla Coves, La Jolla Shore and Black Sand Beach.

One of the characteristics of the beaches of La Jolla is that they are rocky. This guarantees a beauty to them, but also difficult access in some cases – Black Sand Beach, for example.

VISIT UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER

The statue reproduces the historic photograph that depicts a sailor celebrating the end of WWII with a kiss on the mouth from a dental assistant – yes, she was not a nurse as everyone thinks.

GO TO THE MARITIME MUSEUM

Next to the statue is the USS Midway Museum, one of the most surprising attractions in San Diego.

For those who don’t know, San Diego is the largest American naval base and the visit to the Aircraft Carrier explains in detail what happens there – it has an audio guide!

We recommend that you buy your tickets in advance, as it is cheaper via the internet and you avoid queues! For Visa link is here

WALKING IN THE OLD TOWN

The park that preserves and recreates the “old” San Diego is worth a visit. There you will find many historic buildings, from the 19th century – the period of the famous Wild West!

Created in 1968, it is one of the most visited in California. The city of San Diego was the first city founded in California, in the so-called “21 Spanish Missions in California”. For a long time the territory was part of Mexico, until it was annexed to the United States and began its expansion.
